Papa no Iu Koto o Kikinasai パパのいうことを聞きなさい Episode 2

- I'm going to skip recapping episode 1, because not much really even happened, except for the introduction of our main character and supporting characters that are barely even mentioned in episode 2.. and i'm already behind as it is ^^;

Synopsis - Segawa Yuuta is a freshman of a university. He lost his parents when he was small and was raised by his sister Yuri. Yuuta has been living alone since Yuri got married to a middle aged man when Yuuta was a junior high student.

One day, Yuri visited Yuuta's apartment and asked him to take care of her three daughters while Yuri and her husband were on a trip. He unwillingly accepted the job but the plane Yuri took went missing. In order to prevent the daughters from being adopted separately by relatives, Yuuta decided to take in all three girls.

Picking up where we left off from episode 1, Yuuta is left to watch his sister's kids for a day.
Just after meeting them, he already manages to bring on a cliche.
he walks into the bathroom only to find Sora, the 14 year old step-daughter of his sister,
changing.

Pic from the opening of the anime. ^ the heroine of the previous episode, Oda Raika.
Also from the opening.
Title Screen.
Sora, the tsundere 14 year old whom we already know has had feelings for her
non-blood-related uncle (our protagonist, Yuuta) since they met.
Ten year old Miu is also a step daughter of Yuuta's sister, but doesn't have feelings for him.
She's the resident mischief maker.
The baby of the family. The only daughter actually blood related to Yuuta.
Miu likes to mess with Sora.
she hints at Sora's crush on Yuuta..
causing Sora to storm off to her room.

Meanwhile, Yuuta and Hina play Wii.

Sora returns from sulking to be a good Onee-chan.
So she takes revenge for Hina.

Over lunch, Miu decides to mess with Sora some more..
..by asking Yuuta an important question.
It surprises both Sora and Yuuta.
but she's relieved when Yuuta says no.
Tsundere Sora returns.
Miu knows all.
And where is Hina?
Asleep on the table.
Onee-chan Sora comes back.
Yuuta decides to take a nap too,
but when he wakes up he finds a note telling him that the girls went shopping.
Then, Shingo, father of the girls and also the husband of Yuuta's sister, arrives home.
He doesn't recognize Yuuta.
Why?
That's why.
Mischievous Miu strikes again.
Awesome.
He reminds me of Takanashi Souta from Working'!!

And Yuri, Yuuta's older sister, sort of looks like Shirafuji Kyouko from Working'!!
After the girls return home.
Yuri asks Yuuta to watch the girls for a week while she accompanies Shingo on a business trip.
EHH?
He accepts to make his sister happy.

I would like it if this series would turn out more family like to be different from all the other series out there.
But of course, seeing the first episode and the beginning of this one, we know it won't entirely happen.
Hopefully there will be more moments like this one, though.
Eyecatch A.
Sora.
Eyecatch B.
Hina and Miu.
After Yuri and Shingo depart, the girls give Yuuta some education.

Miu is at it again, this time suggesting they call Yuuta 'papa'.

Then they play more Wii,
finish homework,
and do chores.
After, Yuuta remembers that there will be a meteor shower,
so everyone goes out to watch.

As they watch, Hina starts singing 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'.

And they all start to sing along.
Another great family moment.
Then it's off to bed.

While they sleep, we find out that Yuri and Shingo's plane goes missing.
At their funeral, Yuuta remembers his older sister's parting words to him.

The relatives have trouble deciding where the girls should stay, since each one had a different biological mother.
Sora's mother passed away, and Miu's mother lived overseas.
We already know that Yuri's mother has gone missing.
Sora knows what's best.

A relative of Yuuta and Hina sees Yuuta tensing up.
Why?
Because she was present at Yuuta and Yuri's parents' funeral.

Yuri stood up to the relatives and raised Yuuta herself.
Remembering this, Yuuta volunteers himself to be the guardian of all three of the girls.
Everyone is surprised.
When told that the only one he's actually blood-related to is Hina, he says that it doesn't matter,
family has to be together.

END

Overall, this episode really made me want to continue the series.
I wasn't too sure about it in the first episode, but the element of family in this episode was strong, and made it different from the other anime currently airing.
