Amagami SS+ [アマガミSS+] Episode 4: Sakurai Rihoko [桜井 梨穂子] Arc Part 2

-as promised, i'm putting up recaps for both episodes of Sakurai Rihoko's arc up today so i can cover Nanasaki Ai's arc sooner.. since it comes out today ^^;

-i have quiiiite a lot of screenshots for this episode, so you know what that means..

Anyway, on to the episode..

we pick up where left off last episode..

Rihoko is cornered by a suspicious Makabe-kun desperate for a girl.

Rihoko tells him she like Junichi, so he backs off.
At least he's not that much of a creep.

Heading to Junichi's house,
where she was initially was going until she got distracted by Makabe,
Rihoko knows that she has to confess to Junichi tonight.

Meanwhile desperate Makabe asks out another girl..

HARUKAAAA ^.^
now a college studentttttt ^~^

i love hibiki as well.

don't understand why he would run.

Rihoko ends up arriving home before Junichi.
Which means he probably took time to think after
seeing Rihoko and Makabe together in the alley.

Miya points out the awkward.

I very much like the constant face shots of Rihoko.
Her character design is actually quite nice once you get over the chubbiness.

he fails.

eh?

i thought she was going to confess here.
well she was supposed to.
but she chickens out.

perfectly arranged anime food.

Meanwhile.. senpai Manaka Ruriko are fishing..

and have some flashbacks to earlier in the day.

ooooh serious Manaka looks coooool.

Over dinner, Rihoko tells Junichi about her run-in with her senpai,
which was seen in the previous episode.

Junichi imagines them in their tennis outfits..

Surprisingly, he doesn't like.
I actually favor Manaka-senpai.

i swear it looks like Miya got younger here ^^;

but she's still so kawaiiiiii.
and uses 'being full' as an excuse to not pick up the phone ^^

but she does pick up the phone.
and it's Sae-chan calling to ask Miya to go to
the amusement park with her and Ai-chan.

Junichi feeling anxious about the whole thing with Rihoko.

confession?!..
告白?!..

And Miya bursts in.
poor Rihoko.
but you can't hate Miya so..

another time, Rihoko.
another time.

dessert is shaved ice :D

actually looks quite appetizing.

after dessert, heavy rain starts.

oh snap.

you know what's gonna happen now.

very nicely drawn.

as Rihoko takes her bath,
Junichi looks through a photo album full of pics
of him and Rihoko.

that's a tsundere facial expression ;D

he's totally keeping those clothes forever.

true that.

it's the middle of the night, and Rihoko can't sleep.
and i can't see anything..
so i'll tell you what happens here if the pics are too dark for you to see ;D

Miya sleepily gets up and out of bed..

..and she ends up going to Junichi's room.

She then proceeds to take off her pants xD

she thought his room was the tolietttt ;D
aaaaahaaahahahhaha.

ooh. screenshots of in-between animation
makes Miya look like a pervert.

After actually going to the bathroom, Miya is sound asleep again.
gotta love her.

annnd Rihoko still can't sleep.

she prepares to enter Junichi's room..
CONFESSION?!..
告白?!..

but she hears a sound downstairs..

but it's just Junichi =o=
i thought it would be like a thief or something and then it would get exciting..
but no.

they sit together in the night.

CONFESSION?!..
告白?!..

nope.
this time, Junichi himself interrupts Rihoko.

and they reminisce.

it's a really calming and peaceful moment.

uh oh..

CONFESSION?!..
告白?!..

yes!
btw, it's Junichi that says this ^^
an indirect confession.. but still a confession.
at least the feelings are out there.

Rihoko then responds to Junichi's feelings by proceeding to light
his pants on fire with her sparkler.

which of course causes him to spill over a cup of water,
slip on the water,
and land on top of Rihoko.

but nothing happens.
they just jump away from each other.
yep, it's because they've just been best friends for so long.

aaaawkwarddd.

oh?DOUBLE CONFESSION?!..
ダブル 告白?!..

there we go.

eh?

Rihoko must've been like </3

awwwhhhhh.

a soft breeze..

..and a long-awaited kiss.

the next morning..

Miya ruins the mood.

Rihoko in the ending song,
which is titled Confession.

-I wasn't disappointed at all in this arc.
it lives up to the genre Amagami SS is in, Romance.
it was actually really peaceful and calming, and i liked that.
now it's kind of sad to think that there won't be any more Amagami for a while after this.. T_T
in the next episode, though, it won't be as calm..
because Nanasaki Ai is the heroine ^~^
did i mention Ai is my favorite?
